A federal appeals court in Virginia has affirmed the convictions and prison sentences of five members of a violent motorcycle gang.
A three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday rejected several claims raised by Outlaws motorcycle club president Jack Rosga of Milwaukee and four of his associates. The men were convicted on racketeering and other charges in two separate trials in 2010.
Evidence introduced at the trials showed the Outlaws resorted to violence, including murder and arson, in an effort to gain an advantage over the rival Hells Angels.
Along with Rosga, those convicted were Leslie Werth of the South Hill, S.C., chapter, Harry McCall of the Lexington, N.C., branch, and Christopher Timbers and Mark Jason Fiel, both of the Manassas, Va., chapter.
