The California Supreme Court reached a decision in People v. Diaz that police may lawfully search mobile phones on arrested individuals, without first obtaining a search warrant. True and even simpler they are helping to de-legitimize their whole profession.
The police are standing around wondering why people no longer respect them or treat them as we have in the past. It comes down to the absolutely indisputable evidence that society has seen of them abusing their powers.
Go figure..
