OFF THE WIRE
By Journal staff
The rally will honor veterans on Saturday, Aug. 7, with the arrival of the Traveling Vietnam Wall. The display will be escorted to the Buffalo Chip Campground by the South Dakota Patriot Guard Riders.

The American Pride Ride will depart Sacora Station in Piedmont at 6:45 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate in the ride should arrive at the station by Interstate 90's Exit 46 by 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Traveling Vietnam Wall is the largest replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The “wall” is 380 feet from end to end and contains the names of soldiers who died during the Vietnam War. The display also includes historical timelines and a collection of tributes remembering those from Fort Hood, Sept. 11 and the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
