Screwdriver, I was making out my agenda for Sunday's meeting, and I thought you would enjoy reading this.
" Our lobbyist was in the office of the Commissioner of the CHP last week, and because of the lawsuit last year that we ALL contributed money to, the Commissioner said “I don’t really care WHAT they wear on their heads…..If they’re wearing a tin pot or a baseball hat, we’re going to stop them……If they’re wearing anything else, we’re going to just not bother pulling them over. ”.
He was referring to CHP Bulletin 08-071 which happened as a result of the agreement between the CHP and BOLT at the end of the lawsuit.
This agreement also made a change in the Bail and Penalty list, so that any helmet ticket issued anywhere in the state by any police agency , should be a “correctable” ticket.
