Monday May 26 is the US federal holiday wherein the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered. And this Memorial Day weekend, thousands of bikers are going to participate to the Washington DC Rolling Thunder event culminating on Sunday with the parade starting at noon from the Pentagon (rally point is north and south Pentagon parking lots open to rally participants at 7 am.)

RT2Rolling Thunder’s mission is to educate, facilitate, and never forget by means of a demonstration for service members that were abandoned after the Vietnam War. Rolling Thunder has also evolved into a display of patriotism and respect for all who defend our country and also includes legislative efforts. Rolling Thunder strives to affect national policy in a way that will assist POW/MIA’s. The run is open to all who wish to show their support. After the jump, the exact parade route and weekend schedule of events.

Riders leave the Pentagon parking lot via Washington Blvd and come across the Memorial Bridge onto Constitution Avenue heading east to Pennsylvania Avenue. Riders then turn right onto 3rd St and head west on Independence Avenue where they are directed to park in West Potomac Park. Riders generally congregate in the Mall area after the run.
