COMPILED FROM REPORTS BY TRESA BALDAS, ERIC D. LAWRENCE, ELISHA ANDERSON, CHRISTINA HALL AND MATT HELMS
A member of the Highwaymen Motorcycle Club is due in federal court today to explain how he got kicked out of a drug rehabilitation center on Christmas for selling drugs at the facility, according to records filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
Donald Gill, who was under court orders to serve six months at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Detroit, was discharged from the center, court records showed.
Gill's lawyer, James Feinberg, said his client denies the allegation.
Gill, who was indicted in 2009 along with 73 other members of the biker club on multiple charges, pleaded guilty in August to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
On Dec. 16, a federal judge ordered Gill to serve six months in rehab under the conditions he submit to drug testing and participate in treatment.
He was to be sentenced June 21. Now, he faces a bond review hearing at 4:30 p.m. today.
