OFF THE WIRE
frasercoastchronicle.com.au

A TOOGOOM man who was arrested last year during a meth lab raid on a property faced court yesterday charged with rape and other serious offences.

Scott William Hayes has been in custody since he was arrested as part of a police operation aimed at targeting organised crime relating to outlaw motorcycle gangs.
The 37-year-old faces several drugs charges including producing and supplying dangerous drugs.
He will front court again on those charges next month and the rape and related charges have also been set down for a committal next month.
Operation Ice Bobcat has been running since July last year.
Police expect to make further arrests.
Drunken argument ends in court
A MAN who told a woman she “should be dead” for insulting the Beach Boys album fronted court yesterday.
Matthew Raymond Koek was charged with public nuisance following an argument police were called to late last year.
The court heard the Toogoom father was yelling at the woman and said if she brought her kids over to his house she would die.
Hervey Bay Magistrate Graeme Tatnell asked Koek if alcohol was a factor to which he replied, “Yeah I'd had a big day."
Mr Tatnell said he should “do something” about the alcohol and fined him $350.
