I was fortunate enough to engage in conversation with Tom McGrath of http://www.motorcyclevirginia.com/attorneys.htmwith offices in both Virginia and South Carolina last evening on the Phil and Bill Show on blogtalk radio.
His firm was the outfit that took up the charge against Myrtle Beach's helmet law and was ultimately successful in shooting down the city's helmet ordinance! The fight hasn't been without backlash, and wasn't an easy, but serves to show, that if people take a stand for their rights and fight, that there is a chance of a positive outcome.
If nothing is done, then riders are left at the mercy of legislators; which historically we've seen do not always have our best interests at heart!
This decision might end up serving as a precedence for riders to fight local noise ordinances, so watch for the ripple effects.
