AUSTRAILIA - Thirty bullets shot into clubhouse

OFF THE WIRE
POLICE cannot yet link the 30 bullets - believed to be from a rapid fire semi-automatic rifle - pumped into a Rebels bikie clubhouse in Brisbane to any other outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Officers said on Friday they did not fear reprisal attacks because they were not yet aware of any motive behind the overnight shooting.
Police were called to the clubhouse, in Brisbane's north, about 2.50am on Friday after neighbours reported hearing shots fired.
Detective Inspector Graham Clark told media the Rebels had co-operated with police and allowed them into their clubhouse as part of their investigations.
He said police found spent shell casings on the road and damage to the Lucy St clubhouse.
"The spreading of shell casings on the road indicates there was probably some movement involved so we suspect a motor vehicle was involved," he said.
Bikie taskforce detective Inspector Garry Watts said they were treating this shooting as separate from other bikie shootings this year until they had evidence to suggest otherwise.
"The discharge of a firearm in a public place is always a concern," he said.
"The chance of collateral damage to a person and other areas is a concern.
"Hopefully we'll be able to uncover if there is a motive for this offence.
"No one was injured in the shooting.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage.
