ATF Investigating All Leads In Bomb Explosion

JUPITER FARMS, Fla. --
A special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said authorities are taking Tuesday's Jupiter Farms bomb explosion very seriously and are not discounting the victim's claim that it may have been the work of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

Everett Lima, a former member of the Outlaws, said he found two explosive devices outside his Winterhawk Trail home Tuesday afternoon. One had exploded, but the other did not.

"There was some shrapnel in the bomb, and the part that didn't go off was fuel, which would have probably burned my house down," Lima told WPBF 25 News in an exclusive interview.

Special Agent Carlos Baixauli told WPBF 25 News investigative reporter Terri Parker that his department is "following all leads."

"If the leads lead us to the Outlaws, then we'll follow that lead," he said in a telephone interview. "But there could be leads sending us in another direction. So, I mean, we will leave no stone unturned."

The Outlaws are an international motorcycle club formed in the 1930s. Agents raided several clubhouses in Daytona Beach and Jacksonville in 2007.

Lima said he left the club in July partly because of concern about criminal activity.

Several homes were evacuated while authorities investigated.

"If it's motorcycle club-related, then it's ridiculous, because it's just a club," Lima said.
