ONCE AGAIN OCEANSIDE PD GIVES 1 DAY NOTICE...
OCEANSIDE —
Oceanside police will target drivers on two and four wheels Monday in a
crackdown to ensure motorcycle safety.
Extra officers will patrol city streets
frequented by motorcyclists and where the most motorcycle crashes tend to occur,
Sgt. Ken Gow said.
They will be on the lookout in particular
for drivers and riders who are speeding, making illegal turns, or driving under
the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Gow said three fatal motorcycle crashes
occurred in Oceanside in 2011 and in 2012.
So far in 2013, no fatal motorcycle crashes
have occurred in the city, and the number of motorcyclists injured in collisions
in Oceanside has dropped 43 percent, he said.
