ABATE of Florida

This just in from Ron Galletti the editor of Born To Ride magazine.

Please note the wording: possibly slanderous statements that I supposedly made against Doc and or ABATE of Florida. POSSIBLY?????


Also note ABATE of Florida has not stated that we would boycott BTR, BUT then they add we cannot control the individual actions of our membership. Sounds like a veiled threat to me.

Good Afternoon Ron.

We have received an inquiry from another publication regarding statements reported by Rogue quoting you as saying “ABATE came down hard on me and was going to sue us/or Doc was.” and “They were going to boycott Born To Ride and call all of our advertisers” (see attached statements from Rogue & RC).

From my memory, both you and I and then you and Doc had phone conversations the same day a few months ago regarding Rogue’s utilizing your magazine and its website to publish possibly slanderous statements about ABATE of Florida, Inc. and it’s President, Doc Reichenbach II. You had asked that we forward copies of our articles on a regular basis for you to publish, and you said would watch more closely Rogue’s articles he is publishing under the Born To Ride (BTR) namesake. I did notice that the attached article was not published under the BTR namesake, but would like clarification on these reported quotes.

ABATE of Florida, Inc. has not stated that we would boycott BTR. Although we cannot control the individual actions of our membership, we have never had a discussion regarding ABATE of FL boycotting Born To Ride.

Please clarify this situation and if Rogue has correctly quoted you in the correct context.
