NC - CMPD: man opens fire at motorcycle club meeting, kills one

OFF THE WIRE

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police detectives say they are interviewing witnesses about the violence that erupted inside a motorcycle club meeting Sunday afternoon.
Witnesses said a gunman walked into the meeting of the Outcast Motorcycle Club on Commercial Avenue around 2:30 PM and started firing at the victim.
These meetings are known throughout the biker community as "church".
Police know the name of the victim, but they have not released his identity pending family notification.
Police have not said whether a suspect was arrested, or if they have one identified. The suspect and victim knew each other, according to police.
Officers are quick to point out they do not consider the Outcast Motorcycle Club to be a gang in the traditional sense.
They also say there are ten known of these types of clubs in the Charlotte area, most they consider non-violent. Only one or two are thought to be criminal.
