Washoe County prosecutors have upped the charges against the man accused of killing a rival motorcycle gang member at a Sparks casino based on new evidence that suggests the shooting was deliberate and premeditated.
Ernesto Manuel Gonzalez already was charged with second-degree murder in the September shooting of Jeffrey Pettigrew, president of the Hells Angels chapter in San Jose, Calif.
Gonzalez, the 53-year-old president of the Vagos' Nicaragua chapter, was arraigned in Washoe District Court again Thursday on additional charges of open murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He pleaded not guilty.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Karl Hall says in a new complaint Gonzalez was "lying in wait" for Pettigrew.

He says he conspired with other Vagos with the "specific intent" to kill in promotion of their gang.

AUSTRALIA - Raid finds drugs, guns, ammo

DEVONPORT police have this morning found amphetamine drugs in a car that was leaving the Spirit of Tasmania's Devonport terminal, as part of a raid linked to a motorcycle gxxg investigation.
Inspector Rob Gunton said the 7am raid was part of an ongoing investigation involving the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gxxg.
The discovery of the amphetamine -- worth an estimated $15,000 -- was followed by a search of a property at Mission Hill Rd in Penguin, which turned up three firearms and a large quantity of ammunition
The guns were a shortened .22 automatic firearm and two silencers, a hand gun and a SKS fully automatic assault rifle.
A 24-year-old female from Heybridge has been charged with firearms offences and a 32-year-old Penguin male, who is affiliated with the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gxxg, has been charged with firearms offences and drug trafficking.
The pair will appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court at a later date.

U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) is urging members of the U.S. House of Representatives to sign a letter addressed to the leadership of the House-Senate Surface Transportation Reauthorization Conference Committee to include H.R. 904 in the conference report.

As we have reported previously, H.R. 904 would prohibit the Secretary of Transportation from providing grants or any funds to states or local governments to be used for any program to create motorcycle-only checkpoints.
Sensenbrenner has placed a June 5 deadline to collect signatures. Therefore, time is of the essence and the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is encouraging all members and rights activists to contact their representative and ask them to sign on to the letter.
Because the deadline is Tuesday, June 5, the fastest way to reach your member of Congress is to call them. Talking points are provided for you to use with this call alert.
Additionally, a prewritten email is available for you to send to your representatives by following the "Take Action" option and entering your information.

Is New York Becoming The New Bonneville For Motorcyclists?

The Hudson Valley, not far north of New York City, is becoming a popular location to test the limits of high-performance bikes. Just this past week, Police busted two riders on I-87 — one was going 166 mph, and the other was clocked at 193. Next stop, 200.

The two speeding motorcyclists were caught just yesterday, and police said they had stopped another biker doing 160+ mph earlier this month. Anthony Anderson, 28, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was issued 14 tickets when police clocked him at 193 mph Wednesday night. The future organ donor told police, non-ironically, that he was on his way to the hospital to visit a friend. Also, it was raining.

The other two-wheeled speeder troopers nabbed yesterday didn't have much of an excuse. In fact, he actually bragged to the cop that pulled him over that his bike could easily do 190. The rider, Nikkolaus V. McCarthy, 25, of Charlton, N.Y., didn't even have a motorcycle license, so he, too, was the recipient of a mess of tickets. Troopers were also less than thrilled that they had to track him for 50 miles to make the grab.

Police said communication was key in stopping these speeders. Most police cars can't go faster than 130 or 140 mph, nor would we want them to. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's figures, high speed chases are seldom a good idea.
