Virginia - State Trooper Shot By Wanted Sheriff's Deputy

A Virginia State Police sergeant is now recovering after he was shot and wounded by a Franklin County, Virginia deputy sheriff.

It happened just after 11:45 yesterday morning.

Police say Sergeant MK Brannock was shot by 32-year-old Jonathan Agee after he stopped Agee's patrol cruiser on Interstate 81 near Roanoke.

Authorities say Agee was being sought in connection with the deadly shooting of his ex-wife minutes earlier at a Roanoke convenience store.

Agee was shot by two state police officers who arrived to help Brannock.

Sergeant Brannock and Agee were taken to the hospital.

Brannock is expected to be okay. Agee has more serious injuries.
