Narellan and Catherine Field drug labs lead to arrest of Outlaw Motorcycle Gxxx member

OFF THE WIRE
AN alleged senior member of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) and an associate will face court today, charged over the discovery of two clandestine drug laboratories in the Camden region.

Officers from Camden police and the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad’s Strike Force Felix made the arrests after investigating the commercial manufacture of methylamphetamine (‘Ice’).

On Tuesday, February 14, officers executed search warrants at homes in Catherine Field and Narellan, locating sophisticated laboratories at each of the premises.

Specialist officers from the Drug Squad’s Chemical Operation Team worked around the clock to dismantle the laboratories and seized large quantities of chemicals from the sites.

Two men were arrested, one at each of the homes, on Tuesday and a further two men were arrested yesterday.

The two men arrested yesterday, both 33, included an alleged senior member of the Hells Angels OMCG and an associate of the group, at an apartment block in North Ryde.

During a search of the men, police allegedly located quantities of drugs, as well as a 9mm pistol with a fully-loaded magazine.

Camden Detective Chief Inspector Andy Richmond said the laboratories were capable of making large quantities of prohibited drugs.

“Those drugs will no longer be making their way to local streets and causing harm to members of the community,” he said.

“I commend the officers involved in this successful investigation for their work to detect these laboratories and bring four people before the courts.

Officers have also been conducting ongoing inquiries into the alleged leaders of the drug manufacturing operation.

The men arrested yesterday were each charged with knowingly take part in the manufacture of prohibited drugs (methylamphetamine) and other drug offences, while one of the men was additionally charged with firearms offences.

Both men will face Parramatta Court today.
