Ruffy was farewelled with a guard of honour from the Outlaws Motorcycle Club..
RONALD “Ruffy” Doyle was farewelled last week with a guard of honour from the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.
The 74-year-old from Woods Point passed away suddenly while in South Australia on 8 January.
It was a full house last Friday, when family and friends came together from across Australia at Heritage and Heritage in Woori Yallock to farewell Ruffy.
There were many stories shared at the service about his time on the road as a “truckie” and the following passion of motorcycles. He was portrayed as larger than life with a heart of gold and a penchant for fun.
Ruffy was sent off in a coffin designed by his daughter and painted in a rustic Ned Kelly style, with motorcycle chains for the handles.
The coffin was tied to the back of a prime mover, and with the Outlaws in the front, he was taken to be buried at Lilydale Memorial Park.
The Mail will commemorate Ruffy’s life in a future edition.
