It was another great day for a Local 6 meeting at Kate Sessions Park overlooking beautiful Mission Bay in San Diego.... We had a decent sized sized crowd of members and visitors. Our discussions covered a wide array of subjects, including the ramifications of the passing of SB435 which was signed into law by our "MINO"
Governor (Motorcyclist In Name Only). We also discussed upcoming legislation and news from the MC Community, NHTSA's plans on pushing a nationwide helmet bill, and the unconstitutional "MC ONLY" Roadside checkpoints. Want to keep abreast of topics like these ? C'mon down to the next meeting ! By the way... would you like to listen in or join into some good motorcycle conversation ? At our meeting we had at last one renewal, we voted to send $200 extra to the State Office for expenses, and voted to donate to Snowman's "Christmas Ride to the VA Hospital" which happens on December 12th. Watch this spot for more info on this rewarding gathering. Douglas Findlay, a Local 11 member showed up with a political guest who carried a bunch of doorknob hangers to pass out. Douglas is the Main Coordinator of "Ride 2 Repeal". Local 11 Prez Tim Clark was here too, as usual. John made us aware of a couple of local safety hazards on Route I-5, and notified us of a tentative lower fine for violating the "Right Turn on Red" law. Watch out for more cars blowing into an intersection on a red light. Thanks to Moe who supplied the members with another batch of those neat ABATE pins, Thanks to our Phone-Tree callers Keith, Bill and Chop for keeping us informed, and to The (Swiss) Family Robinson for taking care of our membership. Mark your calendars for Sunday November 28th for the "30th Annual San Diego Toy Run" Local 6 is as usual, a sponsor of this run, so please plan on showing up. Admission for the ride is only one new, unwrapped toy. The gathering place is the Fire Training Center on Harbor Drive just west of the San Diego International Airport....9 AM - 10:30 AM.
The Local 6 meetings happen on the first Sunday of each month at NOON at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach, San Diego......C'mon Down !
