James Murray is a sailor on the USS New York. He's being investigated for allegedly being a member of a motorcycle gang called the Thunder Guards.
NORFOLK – A local sailor is being investigated for his alleged connection to a motorcycle gang.According to a court document, 26-year old James Murray is an active duty petty officer for the U.S. Navy and also a member of the Thunder Guards motorcycle gang. The Thunder Guards is a support club of the Pagans outlaw motorcycle gang and is considered to be a security threat group by state and federal law enforcement.
This all came to light July 27 when Murray got into an accident on South Military Highway. According to state police, Murray hit a car and fell of his motorcycle. He was taken by ambulance to Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Murray was arrested for reckless driving and eluding police.
A Navy spokesperson confirmed that NCIS is investigating Murray. He is assigned to the USS New York.
