Professional boxer Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez has risen from a skinny little kid at Ionci Avenue Boys Club boxing with anyone who would take him on, he never cared about being the smaller fighter, to the highest ranks of professional Boxers. Currently ranked #3 in the world by all boxing sanctioning bodies. He just wanted to box. There’s a big difference between boxing and simply fighting, and Edwin wanted to show the world he could box! Having witnessed Edwin in the ring several times at Ionic Ave and elsewhere, Myself and my video/photo partner the late George “Georgie” Query got the biggest kicks out of watching and being around Edwin. A good kid Edwin, a good kid. No Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes. Despite being raised “In The Hood” where Worcester’s gangs thrive.
Edwin has had the community’s respect since those early days at Ionic Ave.
I can’t even begin to tell you all how happy I am for Edwin, not just for his Boxing his way to the top. But for finally shedding the disrespectful and greedy Larry Army Jr. as his representative. Tune in and I’ll lay it down for you all to hear and understand!
