USA - Presentation discourages texting while driving

OFF THE WIRE
GRAPE CREEK — Grape Creek High School's student council, in cooperation with Roadrunner's Motorcycle Club, has scheduled a Remember Alex Brown presentation at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the school's gymnasium, 8834 Grape Creek Road.
The Remember Alex Brown Foundation was established by Johnny Mac and Jeanne Brown when their daughter, Alex Brown, died in a single-car crash due to texting while driving during her senior year of high school. The hourlong presentation is meant to impact students and encourage them to commit to putting their cell phones away while driving.
The local motorcycle club purchased thumb rings for students that read "texting and driving kills." The club became involved after watching the presentation at Wall ISD last year. One of the club's members was struck by a vehicle whose driver was texting.
