THE sergeant-at-arms of the Finks motorcycle gang has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years jail for his part in the theft of a $400,000 Lamborghini from a Port Melbourne dealership.
Richard Michail, 38, and 34-year-old Matthew Ward, were today both sentenced after they were last month found guilty of the robbery of the canary yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera from Lorbek Prestige Cars in May 2010.
As Ward waited outside the dealership Michail assaulted managing director Srecko Lorbek and demanded $50,000 before taking the vehicle and driving to the nearby Finks headquarters.
Justice Mark Dean said the brazen offence was a calculated robbery by the men.
He said both Michael and Ward had demonstrated no remorse since the offence and had poor prospects for rehabilitation.
Michail was sentenced to three years and six months and must serve two years before he is eligible for parole.
He has already served 114 days of pre-sentence detention.
For his secondary role in the theft, Ward was sentenced to three years imprisonment and will be eligible for parole after 18 months.
