The Riverbank Police Department will conduct a motorcycle safety enforcement operation Sept. 24 in an effort to continue efforts to lower deaths and injuries.
Extra officers will patrol areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes occur.
Officers will look for drivers and riders who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and crack down on traffic violations by motorcyclists as well as other drivers, which can lead to motorcycle collisions, injuries and fatalities.
Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
