Ride safe, legal, with responsibility

Coldwater, Mich. — Motorcyclists: ABATE of Michigan, Region 13 (Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale and Jackson counties) would like to let everyone know that we are an organization that promotes education and awareness. Thus our name sake explains it all — American Bikers Aiming Towards Education (ABATE). Lately you have seen several articles for one reason or another about motorcyclists being killed. People who make national headlines for their ignorance will not be condoned by ABATE of Michigan, Region 13. Traveling at high rates of speed and doing “wheelies” down a major highway is not acceptable to those that ride safely. Stunts like this is what gives all motorcyclists a bad name/image no matter what type of machine you ride. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who love to ride that don’t even have their endorsement — again, giving legal riders a bad name. If you choose to ride, be legal, ride safe and with responsibility. For those that choose not to, it could be you and your stupidity or carelessness that causes us to read about your mistakes and/or tragedy in the paper.
