Police officers who patrol on motorcycles are often accused of hiding to catch drivers breaking the law.
Those who complained to the Speedzapper said it’s an unfair practice that leads to ‘entrapment.’
Weslaco’s Senior Officer, Bernie Garza, said his patrol unit doesn’t hide.
His officers park in areas where there is more personal protection.
We spotted Officer Garza parked under a tree on the shoulder of FM 1015 during the after school hours.
Officer Garza said it keeps him away from traffic and out of the sun while in the shade.
Drivers stopped for various traffic violations said they never knew he was there.
