RE: California Public Records Act
Government Code sub-section 6250-6276.48

In accordance with the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following:

1. The number of citations for motorcycle helmet violations that were written by Oceanside PD for the period January 1, 2010 through JULY 10, 2010.

2. The number of helmet citations written during the above referenced time period in 2010 that were written for “un-approved helmet,” “sub-standard helmet,” “improper helmet,” “illegal helmet,” or any other such designation for a helmet that is not legal.

3. The number of helmet citations written during the above referenced time period that were written when the motorcyclist was not wearing any helmet at all.

4. Particular helmet related judicial rulings from California courts, which Oceanside PD makes its officers aware of, to insure they do not violate citizen Rights or State Laws.

I am requesting the above information under the California Public Records Act, Government Code sub-section 6250-6276.48. I understand the law dictates copying costs, which limits it to cost of duplication; if there is a charge for this information, advise me of that cost. Please respond within 10-business days after receiving this request.
