Strike Force Raptor officers have arrested a high-ranking member of an Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs following investigations into an alleged assault at a tattoo parlour in Lapstone earlier this week.
About midday yesterday, Strike Force Raptor officers conducted a vehicle stop at Penrith where they arrested a 28-year-old man. He was taken to Penrith Police Station where charges are expected.
Police allege the man is a high-ranking member of the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
Yesterday’s arrest relates to investigations conducted by police into an alleged assault at a tattoo parlour on The Great Western Highway at Lapstone shortly before 2pm on February 21.
Officers forced their way into the premises after hearing yelling coming from inside.
It is alleged police found three OMCG members inside assaulting a 30-year-old staff member and his 27-year-old colleague. One of the men sustained bruising and swelling to his face however neither required immediate medical treatment.
Police arrested three men aged 48, 29 and 26 at the scene. The men’s vehicles, parked outside the premises, were searched by police who located six sets of knuckle dusters and a bullet. Police allege all three men are members of the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
The men were taken to Springwood Police Station and each charged with detain person with intent to obtain advantage, demand property with menaces (in company), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (in company) and participate in a criminal group.
All three men were refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday. The 26-year-old was bail refused while the other two men were granted conditional bail. All three will re-appear at Penrith Local Court on March 25, 2011.
