OHIO: COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT RECEIVES GRANT

The Ross County Health District has been awarded a $32,400 grant through the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Ohio Traffic Safety Office for fiscal year 2010-11.

The grant, which the health district has received each year since 2000, funds personnel and activities of the district's Safe Communities Program. Safe Communities partners with local law enforcement and other area agencies to address priority areas such as seat belt use, impaired driving, motorcycle safety and teen drivers.

The grant funds are passed through the state's Traffic Safety Office from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
