OAKLAND, Calif.—Police are seeking information from any possible witnesses after an Oakland woman was shot and killed and another person was wounded shortly after leaving a party hosted by an East Oakland motorcycle club. Police say 30-year-old Latasha Carter was pronounced dead in a hospital after being shot around 12:15 a.m. Saturday. A 19-year-old San Leandro man was wounded in the shooting. His name or the extent of his injuries has not been released.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
The killing is the 61st homicide of the year in Oakland. Last year at this time there had been 75 homicides in the city
