Connecticut - ENFIELD - The Outlaw gang member arrested June 15 as part of multistate sweep of suspected members of the motorcycle gang plead not guilty to drug and gun charges Thursday in Superior Court.
Clifford Hemmeler, 54, of 10 Hartford Ave., was arrested after police and federal Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives agents entered his home on a federal search warrant and found five pistols and vials of illegal steroids, according to a police report.

Charles Hines, Hemmeler's lawyer, questioned the validity of the search warrant that lead to his arrest, saying officials entered the home looking for documents verifying his status as a member of the gang. He argued that membership of a club or organization does not give police the right to search a private residence.
