Law Abiding Club Strikes Again

Police In Springfield Township, Michigan, northwest of Detroit, are searching for a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club who has been accused of a felonious assault with a pistol. The Iron Order is a three piece patch motorcycle club that widely promotes itself as a “law abiding motorcycle club.” The Iron Order, founded by disgruntled members of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, is now the largest motorcycle club in the country.
Oakland County Sheriffs say the Iron Order member and an unnamed victim were engaged in a verbal dispute beside Tindall Road in Springfield Township when the Iron Order member pulled a gun, pointed it at the victim’s head and threatened to shoot him. No shots were actually fired and no one was injured. Club leadership encourages Iron Order members to carry firearms in order to “defend” themselves from members of other motorcycle clubs.
The Michigan victim reported the incident to police by telephone after the Iron Order member left on a blue Harley-Davidson with Michigan plates. He is described as a white male in his 50s with a long, grey goatee who was wearing Iron Order Motorcycle Club insignia on his leather vest and helmet.
Iron Order members have been involved in numerous violent incidents in the last fourteen months including the murder of a Black Pistons Motorcycle Club member named Zach Tipton in Jacksonville Beach, Florida in June 2014; a gun battle that left three people injured outside the Echo Lounge in Meridian, Mississippi last February; and a brawl outside a restaurant named the Bar-B-Q Pit in Lower Heidelberg Township in June that left a woman named Tonya Focht dead.
