California Assembly Bill 1047 was signed into law

OFF THE WIRE
California Assembly Bill 1047 was signed into law - it prohibits motorcycle-only checkpoints! California joins several other states, and many Legislators who oppose checkpoints that single out motorcyclists only.

AB 1047 was introduced by Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries on Feb. 18, 2011. The bill prohibits law enforcement agencies from establishing checkpoints where the only vehicles subject to inspection are motorcycles. The Assembly passed AB-1047 by a vote of 55-5 on Jan. 17, and the Senate approved it on June 28 by a vote of 36-0.

The law will take effect on Jan. 1, 2013.

COMMENT, Big fucking deal.  I fail to see how that new law will promote liberties for riders.  In my view it'll only increase the patrol of the SHITheads that will go after those with alternative head gear and unknown patches. Just legislative theater to see how many motorcyclists they can trick into believing they are on "our" side to settle us down.  Nothing short of a complete helmet repeal will appease me.
