Motorcycle safety issue is a perennial source of discussion. In May, bumper stickers, signs and banners will be everywhere to remind car drivers to look twice and save a life.
And while we all extremely supportive of all campaigns to alert drivers on the danger of not seeing motorcycles (and bicycles, and pedestrians) we must acknowledge that we are smaller on the road than almost all vehicles and that the danger of not being seen will always exists somehow. It means that whatever the level of education delivered to others, we must still remain vigilant to others driving mistakes.
Diane Person, who seven years ago lost her son by the fault of a driver, and who since then unrelentlessly raises money for “Look Twice, Save A Life” campaigns, sent me the letter she received from Florida Governor Rick Scott regarding Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. I post it after the jump.
