Police say they have charged a senior member of the Hells Angels bikie gang after finding a gun and cash in his car in Sydney's south-west.
The 26-year-old was one of four men in the car when it was stopped and searched by officers on the Hume Highway at Campbelltown late on Friday night.
Police allegedly found a loaded .45-calibre pistol and a large sum of cash in the car.
The men initially denied owning the handgun and were allowed to leave.
But after forensic examination of the gun, police attended the man's Merryland's home yesterday and arrested him.
Officers allegedly also found 470 grams of cannabis in the man's house and more in his car.
He has been charged with a string of weapons and drug offences and is being held in custody ahead of a court appearance today.
