CALIFORNIA - SDPD officer accused of ticket fixing

OFF THE WIRE

— A San Diego police officer is under investigation for allegations that he fixed or dismissed traffic tickets for county employees.
“We are aware of the allegation and it is under investigation,” police Lt. Andra Brown said Friday. “The sergeant is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.”
Police did not name the sergeant. Brown said she couldn’t elaborate because it was a personnel matter.
NBC San Diego reported that the sergeant, a veteran of the department’s traffic division, is accused of ripping up and discarding traffic tickets for members of the District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities did not say when the allegations were first reported.
