OFF THE WIRE
A SUSPECTED Hells Angels member was intercepted by police in Labrador this afternoon after reports he was armed and was taken away by police on unrelated matters.
Two men, aged 40 and 17, were arrested this afternoon north of Charis Seafoods after police followed a 1996 white Holden Commodore from a 7-Eleven on Bayview Street, Runaway Bay.
Earlier reports were the Oxenford man, who was a suspected Hells Angels member, was seen with a knife at First Choice Liquor at Runaway Bay.
The car was then seen at the 7-Eleven being filled with petrol and police stopped the driver and three passengers on Marine Parade, Labrador.
Two of the four people in the car were taken by police and a man and woman were allowed to drive away in the Commodore.
Senior Sergeant Bruce Pearce said at the scene although there was some suggestion of a knife being seen at the liquor store, no weapon was found in the car.
