Today, the Stockholm District Court charged 17 people suspected of murders, extortion and kidnapping in Södertälje, south of Stockholm.
Around 100 people were present when the trial started and the security level had been raised severely.
A gang war with a supporters' club to the Bandidos Motorcycle Club has in recent years culminated in three Murders, according to the prosecutor. But also other serious crimes of violence. All the defendants deny the charges.
The gang, called the Syrian Brotherhood, or the Södertälje Network, has been identified as one of the worst criminal gangs in Sweden.
