Police: Palmyra man claims he was held hostage by motorcycle gang at Carlisle Applebee's

A 36-year-old Palmyra man was taken into custody Tuesday for making false reports when he allegedly asked Carlisle police to rescue him from an outlaw motorcycle gang that was holding him hostage for $250, near an Applebee's within a Carlisle shopping center.
When police arrived at the restaurant around 6:30 p.m., Donald B. Gross was nowhere to be found.
The police department's K9 unit then found Gross leaving a nearby movie theater. Police then discovered that Gross was wanted by Swatara Township police in Dauphin County on a charge of retail theft.
Carlisle police took Gross into custody for the warrant as well as charges of filing false reports. Gross then repeatedly spat in the squad car during the ride to the booking center. the car had to be placed out of service until it could be cleaned.
