AUSTRALIA - Guns seized in alleged NSW bikie raid

POLICE have arrested two men and seized a number of guns, drugs and nunchakus following investigations into alleged associates of the Rebels outlaw bikie gang.
Detectives from Strike Force Raptor have been investigating the illegal sale and possession of firearms by a number of people linked to the Rebels in the Yass area of the New South Wales Southern Tablelands.
Yesterday police raided a home in Yass and a property at Bowning where they arrested two men.
At the Yass home they seized a .222 rifle, ammunition, nunchakus and a small quantity of cannabis.
At Bowning, they seized two .177 calibre pistols and a small amount of cannabis.
They also found a pump-action shotgun under a bed and a .22 calibre rifle leaning against a wall next to a gun storage safe.
A 39-year-old Yass man, alleged to be an associate of the Rebels, has been charged with one count each of possessing an unauthorised firearm, possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing ammunition, not keeping a firearm safely and possessing a prohibited drug.
A 40-year-old Bowning man, alleged to be an associate of the Rebels, was charged with two counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol and one count each of possessing unauthorised a prohibited firearm and possessing a prohibited drug.
Both men were granted conditional bail to face Yass Local Court on February 7, 2012.
