A 12-month calendar featuring nude hairy bikers may not sound like a likely Christmas gift, but the 2011 Bare all Bikers calendar proved a hit and this year they are doing it all again for cancer charity Relay for Life. “We decided to do another one because it went so well,” organiser Janet Cole said.
This year Ms Cole recruited a different 12 bikers to bare (almost) all for the calendar but said it wasn’t a difficult task.
“It didn’t take any coaxing whatsoever,” Ms Cole joked. “Men are pretty vain.”
Members from motorcycle club the Boundary Riders volunteered their time for the calender, which required them to go the whole hog – with some strategically placed helmets in tow.
Last year all 175 copies of the calendar sold and the group are hoping the publication will find the same success this year.
Ms Cole said she hoped the publication showed a gentler side to the bikers.
“The guys do a lot for the community,” she said.
The calendars will sell from different venues around Bendigo, with a launch happening closer to Christmas.
Next year Ms Cole plans a pink ribbon version to raise money for breast cancer.
“They’ve been trying to coax me to do a ladies one,” she said.
