Motorcycle helmet bill gains traction

LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A bill that would allow some motorcyclists to ride without a helmet keeps gaining momentum in the state legislature.
Yesterday the House Transportation Committee signed off on the plan. It would allow riders at least 21 years old to go without a helmet if they meet certain training or experience requirements.
The bill now heads to the full House for a vote and similar legislation already passed in the Senate.
There's no word yet on if Governor Snyder supports the plan.
Former Governor Jennifer Granholm vetoed similar bills two times when she was in office.
