PA - Several arrested after standoff in Pottstown (video)

POTTSTOWN — Pottstown police arrested several men at a Wheels of Soul motorcycle gxxg clubhouse after a standoff Friday.

The incident began around 6 a.m. Friday when police were called to South Adams Street at High Street for a report of a woman being assaulted. After an investigation of the area turned up no assault victims and no woman, they left, but were recalled to the scene a short time later for the same report.

During the second investigation, police found several people inside a building being used as a clubhouse for the Wheels of Soul motorcycle gxxg. Several people exited the building at this time and were taken into custody as police investigated the possibility that the assault may have occurred inside the building.

Police obtained a search warrant for the building but when they attemted to enter, the occupant still remaining inside refused to come out. This resulted in a standoff until police threw a gas cannister inside and entered.

The person inside was also taken into custody and two of the men in the building were arrested for outstanding bench warrants.

Police are still searching the building but have found no evidence of an assault.

The incident was resolved by 11:30 a.m. and the scene was cleared.
