A South Carolina man accused of hitting and killing a Texas soldier with his pickup truck and then driving away is recovering from stab wounds after returning to the scene of the biker rally where it happened.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says the victim was Sgt. 1st Class Maurice Collier of Ft. Hood, Texas.
Carlton said Collier was a treasurer for the Outcast Motorcycle Club. The 48-year-old soldier wore dark clothing while apparently directing traffic near the parking lot entrance of an Aiken County bar hosting a motorcycle rally Friday night.
Highway Patrol Cpl. Bob Beres said the 57-year-old driver left the scene in his pickup but soon returned and was confronted by some bikers.
Carlton said the motorist was stabbed by an unknown attacker.
