WASHINGTON

Tom Tinney
Rumor has it: Just wanted to pass on some info I just received. The Washington County Sheriffs Office will be ticketing bikers with loud pipes. They just outfitted with decibel readers and will be using them. They went to West Bend Harley and tested a stock bike from the show room floor and it failed! Anyone else have an update? Is ABATE concerned?

For the record, if asked to start your bike or rev the engine, simply say no thanks. You have no obligation or duty to assist in that way. If you have to, and if you have time, wait it out. You are not obstructing since that is not a legal... order. Learn from BOLT and Quig. After being stopped for a helmet ticket, he was told he could not ride away without putting on a helmet. Quig educated the officer that it wasn't a legal order. They can enforce the law after you supposedly break it, but they can't force you to comply. Just saying.
