"Those Voices Don't Speak for the Rest of Us"

OFF THE WIRE

Amidst the turmoil of the 111th Congress, which included such egregious legislation as Cap-and-Trade and ObamaCare, the Republican Study Committee created this video to illustrate how Washington has strayed from the ideas that made our nation great. Freedom and prosperity do not spring from government's power to tax, borrow, and spend. Instead we must get Washington out of the way and allow private enterprise to thrive.

Originally about healthcare, this video is now dedicated to Jack Webb, who wanted each show to contain at least one strong speech that would attempt to set the moral compass of the country right. These speeches need to be heard by a new generation. Contact me if you remember one that applies to current events.

With all the diplomatic skill of that tall guy in Accounting at the water cooler the president of the United States wonders aloud how much or how little racial animosity motivated Sergeant James Crowley to arrest professor Henry Gates. It's a shame Jack Webb wasn't there to comment.

"Number 1, you weren't there, number 2, you weren't there, and number 3, you weren't there."

It's great to know that the sensibilities of easily offended Muslim travelers are more important to the administration than the well being of our children.
“But change would not mean
rejection of the past. Like a tree
growing strong through the
seasons, rooted in the Earth and
drawing life from the Sun, so, too,
positive change must be rooted in
traditional values—in the land, in
culture, in family and community—
and it must take its life from the
eternal things, from the source of
all life, which is faith. Such change
will lead to new understandings,
new opportunities, to a broader
future in which the tradition is not
supplanted but finds its full
flowering. That is the future
beckoning to your generation.”
-Ronald Reagan
