Sara Harrah - Babe of the Week!!!

OFF THE WIRE
My interest for motorcycles began as a young girl riding dirt bikes with my stepfather.  Throughout my childhood and into young adulthood I remained infatuated with motorcycles. Yet life continued to get in the way.  After I completed Dental Hygiene school, I was introduced to Jim Guiffra with AFT Customs at my first LA Calendar Show in Long Beach,CA. This is when my true passion for motorcycles came into play.  I began my modeling career as well as learning how to build custom bikes.  The Motorcycle began to appear as more of an art form as I took to welding and final assembly.   Jim taught me everything I know along with The Miller welding guys.  Since the beginning I have been a part of four world class award winning  custom bike builds, I have appeared in magazines all over the world one being the centerfold for Easyrider Feb 2010,  been an official model for the AMD World Championships, was on NBC news, G4TV, Cooking Network "Extra Virgin."  Aft Customs girls and Jim have been a part of filming a pilot for a reality show called iKustom (not released yet).  I plan on taking my motorcycle safety course soon.  Although I have riden one should definitely be licensed and learn all the rules of the road on a bike as riding is not for sissy's. Building custom motorcycles has been an extremely empowering experience for me as a woman in a mans world.  It has helped to build confidence and to show the world that we AFT girls are not just another pretty face, we get our hands dirty.  I absolutely love the interaction with the other riders at the shows and enjoy seeing other builders artwork.  So when I am not working on the bikes, modeling and learning to ride I am a full time Dental hygienist with two teenage children.  My wife and I also own a fitness studio named Urban Flex Fitness.  As you can see I have many things I enjoy but one thing stays true I love motorcycles.

Miller Partners with Women of AFT Customs

Jim Giuffra, metric motorcycle builder and founder of Jackson-Calif.-based AFT Customs employs women to assist in building up to 70 percent of the metric bikes created at AFT. These women are passionate about bikes and have expanded their skill sets to include welding. Miller Electric Mfg. Co. works with the AFT Customs team to share welding knowledge and resources and recently helped AFT members prepare for a welding certification test conducted at Miller's headquarters.
