Police officers in South San Francisco will be patrolling the roads today to increase safety for motorcyclists.
The police department is conducting a motorcycle safety enforcement operation to raise awareness and enforce safety laws in response to the "unacceptable levels" of injuries and deaths caused by motorcycle crashes, police said.
Officers will be looking for unsafe motorcycle drivers and motorists who are driving unsafely around motorcyclists, police said.
Police said that anyone who is driving recklessly or while impaired could expect to be stopped, cited or arrested.
Today's program is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
