HB2860 went through the house after the Senate amended it to exclude Chicago with a 101-11 vote.
We expected it to go big but we lost 11 yes votes from the first time it went through. I ask all of you chapters that had a representative that changed their mind from a YES vote to a NO vote and ask what was the difference and the deciding factor in their change.
Your legislative officer should make note of the decision and inform ABATEPAC and myself.
When talking to your Reps remind them that:
(1) Not 1 state that passed and implemented this law has went back and rescinded it.
(2) MOTORCYCLE FATALITIES WERE DOWN NATION WIDE LAST YEAR.
(3) we pay the exact same road taxes that everyone else pays and we deserve traffic signals that work.
