Custom motorcycle to be unveiled in Dallas by Gene Simmons of KISS
January 28th, 2011
Do you like this story? On Feb. 2 Gene Simmons of the legendary rock band KISS will be hosting the “Aces and Angels” event at Centennial Hall at Fair Park in Dallas. The event’s main purpose is to support the Wounded Warriors Project, the USO, soldiers, veterans and their families. Besides concerts from Five For Fighting, Little Texas, The Grascals and Rival Sons, there will be auctions, poker tournaments and raffles.

The biggest and baddest event will be the unveiling of a customized bike, honoring and signed by the Demon himself, Simmons. The bike project is almost complete and according to its builder, King Chancellor owner of King Custom Motorcycles in Denton, the bike will resemble Gene’s Demon persona.

“Most of my bikes look like dragons and usually have pointy metals protruding from them,” King said. “If you get too close to some of my bikes you will get cut. Although all of my sheet metal flows, there are areas around the gas tanks, and handle bar grips which come to a point. So I’m always telling people to keep kids away from my motorcycles,” he laughed.

When King starts a project sometimes he will draw up his idea. Some of has drawings have ended up in the hands of such famous celebrities as Robbie Knievel. However, the idea for Simmons’ bike is all laid out in his head. All of the parts are in and ready to be painted and assembled.

The bike will be, “black and silver with airbrushed 'scales' on top,” King said. It will be considered a pro street bike and built to be “long and low.”

“The bike will have a 120 hp motor, 300 wide mm back tire, black crocodile seat, hand made custom sheet metal and 4x8 flat steel,” King added.

King has donated, “hundreds of hours into the bike,” he said. “But, when Gene signs it that will make it worth even more (for when it is auctioned off).”

King’s creation will be unveiled at the Feb. 2 event which will be held at Centennial Hall, Fair Park, Dallas. Then in the fall, the bike will be, “available for auction in Dallas for the next Aces and Angels event during the Red River Rivalry,” event producer Michael Eakman said.

This project is very dear to many involved, especially to King. “As a former Marine I think building the bike supports a very good cause,” King said. “I am donating my time towards the bike, but we are trying to recover funds,” for a few expenses. To make a donation to the bikes fund call King at (940) 453-2392. “If we can raise more than what is needed, then I will keep building the bike for the project until the money runs out.”
