RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A member of the Outlaws motorcycle gang who became an FBI informant says a declaration of war against the Hell's Angels meant he was expected to kill members of the rival gang.

Lyle Beatty of Front Royal, Va., testified Monday at the racketeering trial of Outlaws national president Jack Rosga of Milwaukee and three other members of the organization.

Beatty told a federal jury in Richmond that in April, the president of the Outlaws' Shenandoah Valley chapter told him the group was at war with the Hell's Angels. He said he interpreted that to mean that if he ran into a Hell's Angel, he was supposed to kill him.

Beatty became a government informant in 2007 in hopes of getting a break on a firearms charge.
